I am really sorry to hear that the really cool URL shortener tr.im is now gone.  They announced on their blog yesterday.  The really sucky thing is that they (Nambu Network) also make the cool twitter/Social Media client, Nambu, which while buggy shows a lot of promise to be the killer social Media app.  And right now it’s fate is up in the air and probably dead.  I really hope they open source it or turn it over to someone that can fully realize the vision that the Nambu team had.

So why did it go? Good question, I don’t know beyond what they say on there blog.  But it does seem they are really bitter with twitter! They basically blamed twitter for all their own woes and gave up.  It is a shame really as there are plenty of developers monetizing twitter through their twitter clients and website services.

So good bye tr.im and probably Nambu too.  I hope your new ventures pan out better for you. Actually, I hope you realize that your thinking was flawed and come to your senses as your new ventures are going to fail too, if you don’t rethink your strategy.
